Been a busy day but jobs done I headed out to the shed to row - put a film on called "The siege of jadotville" watching the end of it now would recommend it - based on a true story.
Anyhew the row went quite well another step forwards - felt comfortable - and got a good rhythm
After a quick check in with Q yesterday the feedback was that getting in six 30r20 sessions at 70/75% was going to do as much as the longer ones at this stage.
This morning we got into my rhythm and showing solid signs of improvement which will be the case at this early stage.
Gonna be a lot of these rows until the engine stops coughing and starts humming, very sweaty and a little tough mentally today to get through it, just felt a bit off but got it done and signs of improvement already which is good.
Weighed in this morning and was about as bad as I thought 117kg or 18.5stone 258lbs need to drop at least ten kg. Still that will happen if I persevere.
Speaking of perseverance gonna need some to get the pace down on these 60r20 75% HRR rows. Still got to suck it up.
Today was the east Cork harbour marathon which I completed last year and met some wonderful runners in doing so. This year it did cross my mind a few times to enter as it's literally on my doorstep but for once I did the sensible thing and didn't enter. I did however jump on my mountain bike to go see if I could support and bumped into one of the ladies I ran with last year just after the halfway mark. Three hours later I got home and about two hours after that had a opportunity to do a thirty minute row. Possibly pushed it a little harder than I should lol but the "fitness" isn't going to come back easily...
After a long absence from the erg and a even longer absence from the "Temple Of Q" this afternoon I started back. A long and mostly boring road ahead of rate controlled HR limit rows but I know that's how the results will come. It's also where I heal my hurts. So today I start with a 30r20 aiming at a 75% HRR but allowed it to drift up a little. Felt sick a few times but that's what happens when you are out for so long. For a bit of fun at the end I did reasonably controlled CTC (200m) drag 140 just pushed on the pressure.
