17 million meters - and a bit

Well after this mornings row I had only 5,309m to go to hit 17 million lifetime - so I set up to do 2 by 5309m r20 with 2m30s rest - job done - on my way to 18 now  :-D

10k r26 80% HRR - Kentucky fried legs

Well the schedule called for a 10k r24/26 80% HRR today - so as I managed to get into work early enough to do it with a little warm up I set myself up for it - I did have in mind to start hard and depending on how it felt push on - with the get out clause of the 80% cap should I feel it wasn't there - it wasn't - the legs are fried at the moment - every single drive and recovery sent a small aching/burning through them - even as the pace dropped the pain remained. Have a few niggles with the knees and back - but superficial at the moment - just old age I guess

it ain't happening - 7 and a half by 2min 1rr

supposed to be 15 reps - I only managed 7 and 1m15s of the 8th before the H came D - legs burning from the first rep and not getting any better as I went on plus a complete lack of confidence in speed work is only going to end one way

30r18 75% HRR 2by1min 1r

Lunchtime session was 30r18 75% HRR and then 2by1min 1r target was 1:26.0 so 348m.

On the 30min there felt like a lot of tiredness in the legs and looking at last weeks session I knew I had done 1:47.0 splits at the start so just tried to ignore the tiredness and get the same - after about 15 minutes the legs felt a bit better lol

On the 1min I came out slightly faster then the target - felt good and long in the stroke so all's well today :o)

60r20 70% HRR

Just a 60min r20 70% HRR session - bit of form at the moment - I can knock this out sub 1:50 pace on a good day - C'est la vie

40r20 HRR 70% am 30r20 TT lunchtime

Bit of a mess training as usual so trying to just knuckle down - Bristol is now open to enter (Bristol Indoor Rowing web page) so if I am going to put in a decent time I need to get my head straight. So 40r20 70% HRR before work and then 30r20 TT at lunchtime - taking last weeks 30r20 split of 1:45 I figured I should be able to hold 1:44 and once I started found myself at 1:43.5 so just held on to that - not easy - not destroying - just training....
