Race warm up - Race start

Race warm up - Race start - really not prepared for the race ...

Three days off training again as the Mrs and baby where sick so I donned my nurses uniform - stockings and all - not a clue what to do this week not a clue if I'm going to go - this isn't good for my way of thinking (very OCD) was in work about half hour early (car wouldn't start and tired from the weekend so struggled to get out of bed) if I make it to the start line I'm going to be lucky to get under 6:10 on Saturday - and there is no luck in erg racing ...

2by750 (should of been more....)

feeling generally "life tired" at the moment - the race warm up at lunch was a struggle (even the first 1k) thought about just leaving it at that - but said I'd do one 750 and then either stop - have a 5min rest and do a second - continue on 3min rests - I chose the 3min option even though at the end of the first I was on 1:34's - managed my way through the second almost comfortably on 1:31/32's but then halfway through the third a wave of tiredness hit me and down came the handle - probably a hang over from Monday night when I was up with Lilly most of the night. Plan for Amsterdam is get there - get to hotel - sleep - eat - paddle - eat - sleep - wake and race lol

6k r19 pre work - 4by750 lunchtime

shit - crap - useless was what I thought after my pre work row - set 16k on the clock aimed at 1:47 ish splits r18 - couldn't settle at 18 kept pushing 19 and 20 and after 6k gave it up as a bad job

so need a rallying call as the Euros are looming - 4by750 seemed to fit the bill - ye I don't really know why - well I do - I did three lots of them in three days on the lead up to Bristol - will let me know where I am both mentally and physically - physically I'm not as strong as pre Bristol - mentally ... well maybe I do have it still deep inside as the four reps went like this
1) that didn't kill me I can get another done
2) that nearly killed me but I'll be ok for one more
3) OK am still not dead but kind of wish I was
4) death would be a blessing (especially as I completely missed the start and the first pace showed at 2:40 or something stupid!)

Still I survived - 1 seconds per 500 slower than pre Bristol - so I am looking at holding a 1:32/33 ave at the euros - although with a bit more oomph this and next week I might squeeze that down

5by45s 20r - No sleep and a broken car

No training yesterday due to trying to sort out stuff in the house which took me till 8pm – then ended up going to the Dr’s with Lilly at 9pm and walking dogs at 10pm so no sleep last night - well a broken couple of hours - up and dogs walked then tried to start the car - for about 20 to 30 minutes (sorry neighbours) eventually got to work and chopped the 5k warm up down to 4k and had enough time to do 5 by 45 seconds on with 20 seconds rest - felt horrid - supposed to do ten - twice ! gulp

8by1min plus another

First one was a lot slower than I intended and so was the second up to the point my arse was slipping on the seat and feet seemed to be coming out of my trainers so nearly binned it there and would have had a strop but spotted my c2 gel seat and decided to see if that would help me stay in my seat - it did - still had feet issues but adjusted laces. Felt terrible even after the first one. Been a long day. Was 9:30 pm before I even started the warm up. Not great nutrition wise today either - only porridge at breakfast - soda bread sandwich at lunch and smoothy this evening.
