beat the beat - 4by2k r24 3r

So today was set for one of my three tough sessions - that being 4by2k r24 with 3 minute rest - I did this on the 27th October (see here) and after consultation with Q we decided on hitting the same splits in order to see how the heart and lungs where reacting to the recent training - so hopefully hit same splits with a lower heart beat -

Last time
1:41.9  162 (6:47.8)
1:41.9  168 (6:47.7)
1:41.8  173 (6:47.5)
1:41.5  177 (6:46.0)

So having got into work at 7:15 I was in two minds as to whether or not to go straight up to my desk and lave a longer lunch break or just get it done - I opted to get it done - no one in the gym at that time - lunchtime can be a mixed bag of people and that tends to distract me. So through the 5k warm up and into the first 2k after a 5 minute rest - corr I wasn't liking this - so many HD thoughts - weird as it wasn't that tough really - but corr did I want to stop. Still got to get this box ticked so got it done. Second 2k was actually reasonably pleasant in comparison. The third one and a leg burn came on within the first minutes - but told myself that although that came on quickly it wouldn't keep getting worse at the same rate so head down and plow through. The I did a stupid thing - as I was about to take a monitor photo of the end strokes instead of hitting the "yes" on the "do you want to continue" that ergdata displays on these reps I pressed the "Menu/Back" button on the PM4 itself!!! I quickly realised and clocked the rest time remaining 2m30s then set the stopwatch on my phone to 2min (probably took me 30 seconds to get to the stopwatch) and set a stand alone 2k - set off as the stopwatch hit zero and then drilled the first 7 strokes and settled back - put the push on at the end and finished in a sweaty heap - the result

1:41.9  161 (6:47.8)
1:41.8  165 (6:47.4)
1:41.6  166 (6:46.6)

1:41.2  170 (6:44.8)

Job done then and HR showing the improvement.
