30r20 70% HRR - 2by1k 5r

Not a good day - interrupted three times on the 30r20 70% HRR before work and a brain draining working morning left me without the edge to complete the 4 1k's - so of course the thoughts of binning turning up to the Irish are running riot at the moment.

4 by 1k 5min rest - interrupted!!! - 2 by 1k 5min rest

I feckin had it by the balls as well - at least I would have got the third done on a similar pace and quite possibly the fourth! So after this mornings no so great row I decided to make my own condfidence (they say you make your own luck so why not your own confidence) in the words of Bowie "just for one day" so down I went with the attitude of just going for it (sensibly) and dismiss the doubts in my head - I had to do that a lot - but they where kept to the head - sure the breathing sounded like a fricken steam train and the legs weren't fresh - but I had a good handle on the physical - but the mental gremlins where all over me - I had them beat by the end of the second rep - then the mrs called me (headphones are bluetooth and came straight into my ears) - her car wouldn't start - I guess that was kind of important ... to her ... but poofing like a choo choo I couldn't quite make sense of what she was saying - had to get off the erg and go out to the corridor in work and then call her back - several times before she would answer - to let me know the car was started ..... of course any protests I have where mute and void ... got back into the gym and not in the best frame of mind I packed up and showered - I did contemplate finishing the set but I had cooled off and was conscious of doing the 1k's in anger on a cold back

A brace of 1k's

Not fully recovered from the lurgy and it showed but needed to get the body back to speed and so I'll take a slight positive from the session. Started the third rep but struggled on too many levels - breathing, legs, moral fortitude and finished just after the minute mark.

Leg preservation society - 2by1k 8r

So in prep for BIRC today I was looking at hitting the 1:31's without too silly a start and after bouncing a little in the first one from 1:30 to 1:32 I managed to nail it - legs tired - Q had said to drop the second one if the legs where tired - I looked on the Q-Power forum during the 8 min rest - spotted Ollie had his training updated - said to myself if he took the second set off I would too - so thanks Ollie!
 
Second one started well but then found myself looking at 1:33's at about half way - without going silly I dragged that down to 1:32's and sat there till the end - no sprint finish - now heal legs HEAL!! lol
 
Now I've walked away with a positive mental boost from this which I knew I wouldn't if I had dropped the second set - now for the "Leg Preservation Society"  :-D
