Extremely last chance last minute attempt at this, I had another go about a week ago but tried using a different app than ergdata and I just couldn't find the info I needed, so back to trusted and tested etgdata and a few notes on my erg and after a 2k warm up I set off, thought I'd messed the stroke count twice, especially on the last split, but I actually hit it dead on. Wait to see if anyone else has a last minute try or held back their result, but happy with mine, although another 4m would have been nice.

Indoor Rowing on the Concept2 target was sub6 on the 2k as a 40 year old - now 50 and just getting some ducks in a row lets see where we can go. Tough one 3by3k 3r r26
All day trees.... 😆 so 3k of rowing at r26 3 min rest go again and again. Tired legs but good training for the brain as I was able to maintain the pace and stroke rate even though the legs where asking for a relax on the couch. Job done, training box ticked, onwards and upwards.
Mum's birthday today, 29th August, sadly unable to speak directly with her as shes no longer with us, but she was still with me in my heart today, love you mum xx.

4by2k 3r r24 more proper training
Back from the old plans from Q - 4by2k r24 3r 30r20 pace, so what does that mean, well 2,000m then rest for 3 minutes, do four of them in total rating 24 strokes per minute and use current 30r20 pace as a guide, for me that's currently 1:53 pace, so that went well then didn't it 😀 well... not quite as OCD as I'd like...

Startlng the real training now
As I've had a couple of months of consistency, ie actually being able to train most days, today starts the real training, mileage, well, meterage 😆
Simple plans for simple folk, 40r18 HRR cap at 75% so 146 i think..
Actually felt quite good and happy the way it went.

30r20 the hard way
Tonight I started back on a session which used to fuel my training every Monday, the 30r20 no HR restrictions, but needed to pace sensibly to complete it to give myself a marker for following weeks, tough row for breathing for some reason, well... I know the reason, belly is in the way still... something I need to work on, on a positive the HR stayed pretty good and the mental battle was won 😉 onwards and upwards

She cried 60m r20.. 😆
I have been training almost daily now, but finding time to write them up has been hard.
But for tonight

August 2024 C2CTC 30r22
So after coming in last night and posting my blo I saw some posts on the Facebook c2ctc page about this month's challenge, hadn't realised it was 30r22 😅 so tonight I thought I'd go out and give it a whirl, again after a long day of "gardening" or yard work as I believe our cousins over the pond call it, basically grafting, my body and mind was a little weary, had the dinner made and ate, dogs walked then sat down on the couch after putting kids to bed the head began to nod.. nod.. nod off... then awake again and off I went for another 11pm row.
The HR wasn't matching up to the effort I felt at the start, maybe I'm too use to r20 especially at the moment, but I pushed on and the HR eventually rose, bloody hard chuff chuff that. 660 strokes.
Interestingly, to me anyways, my 30r20 from two weeks ago was a greater distance... so more to come here

Tonight, 11pm.... after a long day of tearing up decking and building a temp shed i headed out to row the 30r20 on a old tired body... well I'm quite happy with the result 😀

World Rowing Virtual Series - Round 2 - Yin-Yang
Round 2 - This one seemed like something I'd love back in my day lol but not so much now, unfortunately my first attempt didn't happen until the 29th July, needed to make sure I got a score on the board so played it a little conservative.
World Rowing Virtual Series - Round 1 - Podium Power
So browsing through Facebook early July I spotted a advert for World Rowing Virtual Series, as my rowing was going quite steady I thought I'd sign up for the craic, might help motivate me out of my 30r20 HRR 75% that I've been doing day in and out for way too long... lol there was a small vacation in Florida to complete early in July, I had endeavoured to row while out there to maintain the small bit of fitness I'd pulled back, alas it was not to be, but a great holiday was had and I even brought back a Model A :)
So after recovering a little once we got back (post vacation I was hitting 1:55.9 ave on my 30r20 on the 23rd June to 2:02.0 ave on 16th July) but managed to buck my ideas up and on the 24th July pushed myself to a 1:54.6 with an open HR. The next day I decided to start an attempt at the Virtual Series, at 11:56pm lol sometimes the only time I get to row is very late...
Two attempts at the 213m the first one came in at 0:32.9 and the second a few minutes later was 0:32.6 felt I had a little more to edge out but left it as it had gone midnight.. I had one other attempt but sadly it was not to be as it came after an attempt at the second round.
