1k HD - getting hacked off

Getting truly hacked off with this now - there where a few "distractions" in the work gym eg PM4 decided to reset itself, class of about 12 people being shown around (but luckily that was only during the warm up) then when I came to the row there was one guy knocking around for the actual row and I was just not able to concntrate and my mind drifted then the pace did and I am feckin fuming at my own mental weakness - why can't I nail this - WTF is wrong with my head - it's not even 3 feckin minutes!

HM - Start - Pause - Start - Stop - Start - Stop - Start - Technique!

so really shouldn't set off on a HM without some recent distance work - well not at a pace near to PB at any rate - oops - got into work with about 1h15m so decided to tap out a HM looking at my age group PB of 1:46.6 pace I decided to go at 1:45 pace and then set off hitting sub 1:44 pace pretty comfotably then dropped to sub 1:45 then the HR was hitting 80% HRR although I still felt OK up to about 30 minutes and this is when the mind started it's tricks and I took a pause but carried on with only a moment lost. Just before the hour mark though I actually put the handle down twice and un clipped from the erg but managed both times to get back on - the first time I hit about 1:45 splits and could still have broken my PB but this probably drove me to distraction and in part caused the second one. After picking up again on the last time I decided to just get through and aim at r20 with HR cap 80% and concentrate on technique - hard and fast drive - heals down - fast hands - not so easy when your legs are fried. Still HM completed and burnt some calories. Averaged over one hour and 15 minutes with a HR of 160 should do some good. Need to get distance work back in though, since December 24th 2014 when I pulled the HM at 1:46.3 I haven't rowed anything more than a 60 minute piece in a sitting - and I've only done 7 of them !

falling apart at the seams it seems - 30r20 HD

Attempted and slowly but surely it came apart on me and I ended up HD'ing at halfway - this is miles off my pace and really is fecking frustrating!

it ain't happening - 7 and a half by 2min 1rr

supposed to be 15 reps - I only managed 7 and 1m15s of the 8th before the H came D - legs burning from the first rep and not getting any better as I went on plus a complete lack of confidence in speed work is only going to end one way

60r26 by two HD's

Again I went in before work and attempted the 60r26 and again at lunchtime - both resulted in HD's one 23 minutes in and the other after only 20min :o(

aborted 60r26 am 40r26 lunch

In early and attempted a 60r26 targeting 1:42.1 pace but just after 20 minutes the HD friends showed up




So at lunchtime I just dialed in 40 minutes and although still bloody tough I managed to get through - phew

HD 8by500 1:30r

nope - legs did not co-operate on that one - first 4 at 1:29.7 - 5th was 1:30.2 - 6th one I almost got to the minute at 1:30 then the legs seized up - they started going on the third rep - the fourth was pretty tough - the fifth was brutal and the sixth ended the session - tried to go again after about two minutes and managed 30seconds before they gave up again - I think the issue is that I aren't getting the "easy/paddle" sessions in and therefore I'm not shifting the lactic out ?

funnily enough I'm not too down about it - I gave it all I had and on the day - another day I will have more Description: ;-)
