
Indoor Rowing on the Concept2 target was sub6 on the 2k as a 40 year old - now 50 and just getting some ducks in a row lets see where we can go. Previous Overall World Record holder in the 100km 6H12m39.2s ave 1:51.7 and Irish National Record holder in 30's 40's and 50's groups. Age group European & Irish 2k Champion and British Open 2k Champion

30r20 70% HRR - poorer - 3by1min 1r - poorlier
And again in order to mix in some oomph I dialled in the 3by1min 1r and targeted 355m per split - no1 the legs felt destroyed from the start but ended a meter ahead - no2 a meter to slow - no3 I feel poorly lol but finished - really feeling pretty ick now

Two thirties and some minutes
At lunch time I wanted to revisit when I last felt good on the erg - which was the 21st of October (Here) that day I rowed a 30r20 70% HRR and averaged 1:48.4 and then 3by1min ave 1:24.0 (1:24.7 r34, 1:24.2 r36 and 1:22.8 r38) the aim was to repeat the session - the numbers show the story on the 30r20 and on the 3by1 min although I was a little faster on the first and a little slower on the second the 3rd was quite far off.
Oh well - onwards and upwards - again - other numbers to note are weight increase to 111kg (from 108kg) and resting HR this morning was 139 (was 133) so I may adjust my HRR zones if for no other reason than to make me feel a little better

30r20 70% HRR - 3by1min 1r
So I dropped the 50min r18 down to 30min r20 and then did the 3by1min - originally I wanted to do the 50min before work and then do the 3by1min at lunch with some weights
30r20 70% came in at 8298m - ave HR 139 (143 is cut off) ave 1:48.4 - I liked that
I also liked this
although I could taste blood on the last rep - through the line holding 1:24's/1:25's

Race warm up - 3by1 1r
Just the race warm up today with three 1 min blasts at 2k pace -2 - legs feeling better but not without tiredness. Fly to Nottingham on Friday morning where I will get picked up by the lovely Jen Howse and that husband of hers and taken in luxury to Cardiff - but - they won't be there until after midday and I'm starting to think about looking for a gym near the airport to do a few meters in
Sat on the machine and the HR was at 45bpm - nice - only got to 153bpm on warm up - not so nice - should be at 160 so thinking there may be a slight bug in the system - wrap up warm for the next few days then
