Just get over the hump - CTC r26
I'll admit that was a lot tougher than expected - after the r24 1:35.7 I was looking for a rate 26 sub 1:34 - so that worked out at 320m a minute - I started this on Friday and got 6 reps in then just didn't have the energy - not broken as such by it - just tired - I guess it was my first full week back in work and just lacked the energy. So after a gentle row this morning I was looking for something to sink my teeth into and this fit the bill. 1k warm up and off I set - messed the first rep up timing wise and ended on 317m so binned it and started again lol was a lot better on the first rep but messed up the second - oh well no time to start again so plodded on. At about the 6th rep i was questioning my sanity and just said to myself "get over the hump at least" ie the 8th rep - from there it was downhill lol so dragged my heavy ass up and down and got passed the 8th - at about the 10th I felt a little sick but managed to finish off the set - definitely suffering from lack of "fitness" if I do go to r28 I can see it getting quite horrid indeed.

CTC r26 - 1k 300m 300m 300m 300m 1k 2r
So today it was time for r26 on the CTC the target's where based of yesterdays r24 and the previous r22 session so panned out at
1000 02:58.9 01:29.5
300 00:51.0 01:25.1
300 00:51.4 01:25.7
300 00:52.5 01:27.5
300 00:53.4 01:29.0
1000 03:08.3 01:34.2
09:35.6
(please note - all my starts are from a static flywheel - no rolling starts)
1000 02:58.9 01:29.5
300 00:51.0 01:25.1
300 00:51.4 01:25.7
300 00:52.5 01:27.5
300 00:53.4 01:29.0
1000 03:08.3 01:34.2
09:35.6
(please note - all my starts are from a static flywheel - no rolling starts)
so total time of 9:35.6 which would be 5 seconds faster than the r24 overall. Went through the 5k warm up well enough. Set the session up and set off - HD after about 100m - there was a girl doing stretches right next to me and it was so annoying I stopped and got off lol went for a short walk and came back when she finished. So set it up again and of I set - too hard at the start then too soft - found it hard to get the rhythm but found it eventually and finished just outside goal time. This also happened on the first 300m - on the second I was ahead on stroke so had to stop with about 20m left and watch the average go from sub 1:27 lol (damn my OCD) third 300 I got to grips with it well and the 4th I had a similar incidence to the second 300m. The last 1k I was hoping to stick with 1:34 through the majority of it - found myself happily sitting on 1:33 and stuck with it. When I say happily - there was a lot of internal wobbling of the legs lol but they held firm to the end.

2by20 r4 26/27SPM
Just felt a lot tougher than I would have liked - think I'm still tired from the night before last when the wee one had me up at 2am and 4am and then again at 4:30am. Did manage a row this morning before work - was supposed to be 60min r22 at sub 1:45 pace but as I set off it turned to r24 - then after 20 minutes a guy walked in and turned the temp up so it then turned into a HD FFS.
No warm up - no time just straight into it - sweat fest! Target was 1:44.5 or faster so that's good :o)
Hmm Protein delivery - 400 servings! lol

HM r26 - 40-49H Irish Record
Got in work and figured I had about 1h15m to row in order to get to my desk in time. So figured I could just about squeeze in a HM and set it up. Started at r24 and then let the rate drift up. The HR is obviously faulty and doesn't show the story - the phlegm on the monitor does lol my HM PB is 1:12:43.8 or 1:43.4 pace so still way of that.
