30r20 TT - need blinkers

Monday equals 30r20 bury yourself day - the plan was to start hard at sub 1:44 pace and then let it come up a little in the middle and then drive for home - plan started well - got to the 6 minute mark and felt just about right on the "feck am I gonna make it" pace guideline - then a chap got on the erg next to me (and they are close together) and proceeded in the ski-jump format of rowing ... although I tried to block it out it was just to close and lost my rhythm and to add to that I could see traces of my sweat and snot going in his direction if I wasn't careful so had to try and keep a lid on that - led to a greater slow down than intended but on the positive I stuck with it and gained 17m on last week lol - OK so that might have come from the final few strokes .....

AM 60r20 70% HRR PM 30r20 destroy yourself

Sinuses felt a lot better this morning after last weeks cold so set about a 60r20 70% HRR to see how the body itself was - and seems like it's OK a RB (Return Best - kinda like a PB (Personal Best) or SB (Seasons Best) but this is for when there is a big break in training) by 5m from last weeks  although the average HR was a touch higher at 142 vs 140 but the TE was lower at 2.4 vs 2.7.

Lunchtime and the feast was scheduled as the usual 30r20 Monday destruction - and oh boy did I jump in two feet into this - extremely tough session but very enjoyable... once finished lol - even my eyelids where sweating - god only knows what the folk in the gym thought of me cos I was puffing good

two 30r20's - one at 70% HRR and one at age group PB SB

Once again managed to get in early enough to do a 30min row before work - just - r20 and 70% HRR - felt good and managed to get it in under 1:50 pace which I was very happy with

So after saying I'd take it easy this week I got a bit of drive in me and took on the 30r20 TT at lunch - age group PB was 8686m so target 1:43.6 or better. 2k warm up with some r20 bursts and off we set. Got to the 6min mark and although tough I was still in control so kept the pressure on. (I know from experience that the 6 minute mark is a good time to adjust if needed - it should be tough but not quite coming apart at this point) I kept the sub 1:43 pace going up for the first third and then backed of slightly through the middle - not sure where my "fitness" is at the moment. Then once inside the last ten picked it up again and drove for home in the last two or three minutes - overall 30r20 PB is 8,855m 1:41.6 which may be on in the coming months ...

Happens to be a seasons best 30 minute as well :-D
