Row like a freak - 3by 1min r20 - 30r18 75% HRR - 2by1min

Almost didn't train today - feeling battered this week by "life" but decided just go down and crack on seeing what others are getting through at the moment and still training is very motivating on these down days – also saw James Howard mention that anyone who could go sub 2k pace on a 1min r20 was a freak – so swapped out today’s session with net Thursday :o) couldn’t face 50r18 neither did I have time if I added on the 2by1min at the end.

1min r20 325m 1:32.3
1min r20 331m 1:30.6
1min r20 333m 1:30.0

30min r18 75% HRR – nearly stopped after about ten minutes as I just wasn’t into it - 30min r18 8214m 1:49.5

2by1min 1r
1min r30 (30 strokes on ergdata) 353m 1:24.9
1min r30 355m 1:24.5

30r18 75% HRR plus 2by500 1:30r

scheduled to do 50r18 70% HRR followed by 2by500m but being cautious with time at lunch I dropped it to 30min but increased the HRR to 75% (151bpm) again as earlier I turned the ergdata to watts to stop the number chasing

Then on to the 500m's and I can tell ya I was blowing some amount of carbon of at the end of these! Tried to tie in the new technique as much as possible which I find is a lot heavier on my thighs than the old one.

Back from the races - time to work on technique 30r18

Started today to adjust the technique and try and get those damn heels down which appears to have come about from opening my back to early so 30r18 on 65% HRR (and still tired from the weekend also aching a little) a bit messy split wise and finding it awkward but will persevere - feels like my stoke is shortening - but ergdata says it's not - gonna take some concentration as I increase pace/power - 8011m 1:52.3

There are now videos of the 2k - 1k and 500m in my Bristol blog

30r18 75% HRR 2by1min 1r

Lunchtime session was 30r18 75% HRR and then 2by1min 1r target was 1:26.0 so 348m.

On the 30min there felt like a lot of tiredness in the legs and looking at last weeks session I knew I had done 1:47.0 splits at the start so just tried to ignore the tiredness and get the same - after about 15 minutes the legs felt a bit better lol

On the 1min I came out slightly faster then the target - felt good and long in the stroke so all's well today :o)

30r18 65% HRR - 2by1:30 1:30r

session 2 - 30r18 65% HRR - dropped the HR and SPM cap in order to allow the body a little recovery after having a slow session this morning - also the air con was blowing out hot air FFS! Then I wanted to see what 1m30s at 1:25 pace felt like - horrid - so I did it twice lol

30r18 70% HRR ~ the old favourite

The old favourite light session today - 30r18 with HRR at 70% (146) all went well at the start but then the mind drifted to Sunday's races and the HR started bouncing around - then lost track of stroke count and took me a while to sort it out - stupid brain trying to think during erging

Easy does it - feeling battered

Was hoping to get a gentle erg in last night - but alas the moment never presented itself – so back into work today and down for a 30r18 HRR 70% (146) at lunch time – quite tired and it seems a little of the chest infection I had prior to Boston has popped up again but can’t see that lasting more than a day or so. Body feels completely battered though – legs, back even the arms – just ache’s – must be my old age showing  managed to start quite well on the session but tailed off more than I would like as the HR came up – shot up a few times when I contemplated the English. Folk in work have been asking how I got on in Boston and feels shit to say I came 5th although they all say well done – just have to use it to build for the future – onwards and upwards!
